Seeking a Full-Time Youth Ministry Pastor

Global Mission Church of Greater Washington is a Southern Baptist congregation in Silver Spring, Maryland, serving a Korean-American community in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. We are committed to evangelism, disciple-making, and global missions.
Position
• Title: Full-Time Youth Ministry Pastor
Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
• Provide overall spiritual leadership and direction for the Youth Ministry (YM), serving students in grades 6–12
• Preach and teach the Word of God to youth on a weekly basis
• Plan, prepare, and lead YM worship services, retreats, and special events
• Select and develop biblically faithful, age-appropriate curriculum for the YM education program
• Recruit, train, and shepherd YM teachers and volunteers
• Develop and lead discipleship training for youth
• Provide pastoral care to students and their families, including home visits
• Develop and manage the YM budget
• Participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings
• Communicate regularly with, and build healthy relationships among, pastoral staff, volunteers, and parents
Required Qualifications
• A clear calling to youth ministry and a growing walk with Jesus Christ
• Native or near-native level of proficiency in English
• M.Div. (or equivalent) from an accredited seminary
• Ordained, or eligible for ordination
• Prior youth ministry experience
• A collaborative spirit in working with pastors, deacons, and parents
• Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience serving in a Korean-American church context
• Southern Baptist background and/or seminary training
• Conversational Korean
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year, inclusive of housing allowance, commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Health insurance for the pastor and his or her family
• Retirement plan (GuideStone 403(b))
• Paid vacation and continuing education support

5. Statement of ministry philosophy and vision for youth ministry
6. Two reference letters (at least one from a current or former Senior Pastor)
