PART-TIME ENGLISH MINISTRY (EM) PASTOR

Cornerstone Community Church | Redwood City, CA

Cornerstone Community Church is seeking a Part-Time English Ministry (EM) Pastor to lead and shepherd our English-speaking congregation through biblical preaching, discipleship, and pastoral care. The EM Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor and ministry leaders to advance our One Church vision, fostering unity between the English and Korean Ministries.

Position Details

• Location: Redwood City, California

• Start Date: January 2027

• Commitment: 20 hours/week (50% part-time)

• Annual Compensation: $42,500

• Benefits: 5 days paid vacation; health insurance not provided

• Reports to: Senior Pastor

• Future Opportunity: Potential transition to full-time ministry based on church growth, resources, and mutual availability

Key Responsibilities

• Preach Christ-centered, biblically faithful sermons and lead Bible studies.

• Provide pastoral care, counseling, mentoring, and discipleship.

• Support Sunday worship, small groups, and lay leadership development.

• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leaders to strengthen unity and advance the church's shared mission.

Qualifications

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry and Christlike character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).

• Commitment to biblical authority and Baptist convictions consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

• Alignment with Cornerstone's One Church vision.

• M.Div. or equivalent theological education preferred; current seminary students may apply.

• Previous church ministry experience required; 2-3 years of pastoral experience preferred.

• Strong English preaching, teaching, communication, and relational skills.

• Ability to minister in an Asian-American, multicultural, and intergenerational church community.

Ministry Schedule

Approximately 20 hours per week, including Sunday worship and ministry (minimum 4 hours), Friday/Saturday pastoral and leadership responsibilities (minimum 6 hours), and weekday sermon preparation, meetings, and pastoral care (approximately 10 hours). Scheduling is flexible in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
