Location: Huntsville Baptist Church – Huntsville, AL

Position Summary
Huntsville Baptist Church (Korean-American Multi-Ethnic Church) exists to be disciples of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all nations in our hearts and homes and in our neighbors and nations.  We are seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Educational Department and English Ministries who will lead and shepherd children and youth and oversee all aspects of English Ministries. This man will serve under the leadership of the Lead Pastor to help cultivate a culture of disciple making across generations and all nations.

Primary Responsibilities
Education Ministry (Approx. 40%)
-Lead and oversee all aspects of children and youth ministry (pre–12) with a focus on biblical teaching and discipleship.
-Disciple students through regular Bible teaching, small groups, mentoring, and personal relationship building.
-Equip parents to take an active, intentional role in the spiritual formation of their children.
-Recruit and develop adult leaders to shepherd students.
-Develop outreach strategies to reach the students at local schools
-Plan and lead events, retreats, mission trips, and outreach opportunities that align with the church’s mission and values.
-Cast vision for a thriving children and youth ministry that is rooted in Scripture, integrated into the broader church body, and multiplying disciples.

English Ministry (Approx. 40%)
-Oversee and coordinate English ministries including:
- Sunday Worship (All Nations & All Generations worship)
-Living Life Groups (small group ministry)
-Sunday Schools (equipping classes)
-Men’s and Women’s Ministries
-Weekday Bible study
-Young Adult Ministry (YAM) Bible study
-Develop leaders by training and resourcing volunteers and group leaders.
-Assimilate newcomers into a fellowship and discipleship.
-Provide a clear and cohesive discipleship pathway for all ages and stages of life.
-Support church-wide ministries

Other responsibilities (Approx. 20%)
-Administration and basic church operation (working with the admin staff)
-Participate in pastoral care, church events, and regular staff meetings.
-Contribute to the long-term vision of the church (multi-ethnic ministry), with openness to future pastoral leadership development.

Qualifications
Spiritual & Personal
-A man of godly character, meeting the biblical qualifications set forth in Scripture (1 Tim. 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).
-A growing love for Jesus, the Church, and people of all ages and all nations.
-Committed to expositional preaching, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the centrality of the gospel.
-Joyfully aligned with the mission, culture, structure and doctrine of Huntsville Baptist Church.
-Healthy and humble relationship with the Lead Paster, church leaders, students/parents, and other church members.

Doctrinal & Theological
-In full agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
-Comfortable in a church culture shaped by Southern Baptist convictions.

Professional & Educational
-Master of Divinity Degree required
-At least 2 years of ministry experience with children and youth and adult discipleship in a local church setting.
-Strong communicator and teacher of Scripture (in the pulpit and a classroom setting)
-Relationally humble, organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively on a team.
-Bilingual (English & Korean) preferred - Fluency in English and ability to communicate in Korean.
